Nebraska Open Meetings Act

Good government is open government. That’s the premise of Nebraska’s open meetings law, which serves as a tool with an important purpose – to help all citizens better understand and be more aware of the actions and decisions of elected and appointed officials.

In light of recent changes in the open meetings law, the Nebraska Press Association, Nebraska Broadcasters Association and Nebraska State Bar Association are pleased to be able to provide this copy for use by citizens, elected and appointed officials, businesses and the media. That’s because all share an interest in seeing government work effectively and openly.
