The 2021 Nebraska Press Association Convention will be held virtually and not in-person.The NPA and OnePress boards of directors have approved for the 2021 convention be held virtually and not in-person.
The NPA and OnePress boards of directors approved this decision at their February 4 joint board meeting, citing continued health and safety concerns related to the Covid-19 virus as the sole reason for the change.
The convention was scheduled to be held on April 8-10, 2021, at the Cornhusker Marriott in Lincoln; this is the second consecutive year for cancellation due to Covid-19.
New dates for the virtual convention sessions and the contest awards video presentation will be rescheduled. Full details will be announced in the next two weeks.
NPA board president Amy Johnson of the Springview Herald and OnePress president Randy Sadd of the Doniphan Herald expressed disappointment with this decision but said it the only decision that could be made at this time given the uncertainty of the Covid-19 situation.
